OPaL Celebrates 74th Independence Day

The 74th Independence Day was celebrated at ONGC Petro additions Limited's Dahej plant. The event commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by Chief Guest Shri Avinash Verma, Managing Director – OPaL. Shri Avinash Verma addressed the gathering after hoisting the flag. Security, Fire and armed SRP platoons presented ceremonial parade. Shri Verma applauded the effort of all the departments for the exemplary work done during the lockdown period. He said, “OPaL has managed to continue the business operations including production during the lockdown phase and these efforts have been well acknowledged by the Industry peers. Despite the industry going through a lean phase, OPaL is now in a much better shape due to our sustained business operations”. With a cautionary note he added, “Owing to the on-going pandemic situation, the global economy has taken a downturn, thus there are many challenges ahead of us. But the lockdown phase has prepared us to face difficult tasks.”
While commending Governments work to help business, he said, “Prime Minister's mission to make India Atmanirbhar Bharat has brought a new set of opportunities for us. This policy will give an edge to manufacturing sector. For OPaL, I believe, the time is ripe to realise its full potential and work accordingly.” Shri Verma concluded with an appeal to all employees to follow safety protocols and stay safe from COVID 19. This year’s celebration was subdued by the prevailing COVID 19 situation. Only a few of top management along with other employees were present for the flag hoisting event. The celebration was organized by the Security team following all Social distancing norms. The event was streamed live for all employees via Facebook live and Twitter. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Shri Mukesh Thapliyal, Security, In Charge – OPaL.
